Web sites these days seem to offer a lot of information on every page no matter where you turn and look. For example, A weather app? Customized Calendars and  Contact Forms? How does one make all these tools? Today, 360 Web designs will give a short tutorial on WordPress plugins and how to install them.

Just like WordPress itself, these tools were probably written in PHP. PHP is a very popular general-purpose scripting language used for web development. Many scripts are written in this language to make certain actions more convenient to do.

 

Can’t code? No problem!

WordPress plug-ins are written in PHP and can help you keep track of many things without you having to build those actions from scratch.  There are many plug-ins out there for your choice of use. For instance, types of useful plug-ins include:

 

So how do you install a plug-in?

Now, assuming you already have your site all set up and ready with WordPress, let’s take a look at how you can install plugins.

First, on the left side of your WordPress Dashboard, there is a tab with a number of options on it. One of them should be labeled plugins.

When you click on ‘add new’ in the drop-down options for plug-ins, you will be redirected to a new page where you will see the featured plug-ins for word press.

In Addition, the ‘More Details’ link allows you to see more features about the app and how other people reviewed it.

Once satisfied with your choice, you can go right ahead and download it!

 

Removing the plugin

In case you no longer want to use the plugin, you can uninstall via Plugins>Installed Plugins>Delete.

Finally, plugins may be easy to download, but not all plugins are easy to use. In other words, make sure to keep a note of updates and documentation on how to effectively use the plugins you download.
